A relative just gave me a Glock 38.

Don't know much about this gun, except it takes GAP rounds ... but it is after all a Glock.

Anyone familiar with this gun?

My dad has one and likes it. He's bout a shite ton ammo for it. Well, he bought a ton the other 50 or so pistols he has as well. He doesn't have anything else to spend his money on. My mom hates it. He tells her it's like another savings account with a higher interest rate these days. Then, she gets more pissed.

I wonder if the GAP round might not kick as much?

I don't have a clue. I'll ask him tomorrow and report back. He's probably sleeping now.

Edit your title before it gets the anchor.

Enjoy your Glock, btw.

What a stupid fricking cartridge.

Enjoy the obsolete glock though. It'll be a good paperweight.

Can u do a caliber swap with the 38? Probably would be the best use of the gun if possible.

That would be the ideal situation if possible. I'm not sure though. If it was mine I would damn sure see about making it shoot regular 45 ACP

I just googled...seems to be a little more complicated than a barrel swap. Looks like you need a whole new upper. Going to ACP may not work because of the length of the case. I would go with a new upper in the caliber of his choice...around 200....especially on a free gun.

I may have found something to alter my Glock 38.
According to one forum, the Glock 38 and 23 uppers are interchangeable. Interesting if true.

One guy claims he did that and shot 200 rounds without problem. At least this would get me into ACP ammo.

The GAP cartridge is Gaton's solution to a non-existent problem. He wanted a cartridge named after himslf.

It's OK. But the earth would have continued its rotation without this cartridge.

Yeah just do the whole upper swap...if u try to swap just the barrel and spring it wont work because the extractor wont grab the smaller diameter case.

I have had one for about 8 years or so now. Bought a shite ton of ammo for it, I don't shoot it much, but I love the gun. It's my main HD gun.

I don't have any problems with running my lone wolf 40-9mm conversion barrel in my glock 23. I've put about 400 rounds thru the conversion barrel with no jams while still using the stock glock 23 recoil spring and extractor.
