can you read numb nuts
AR stands for Armalite. You should do some research before you make yourself look this retarded trying to show up someone else. The original rifle was the AR10, chambered in 308. Then Eugene Stoner and Armalite worked to combine the .223 Remington round and the AR10. The result was the Armalite model 15.
To the OP no, 380 is not almost 9mm. There may be only 2mm in case length difference (.380 = 9x17mm, 9mm = 9x19mm) but the rounds are quite different.
9mm is a higher pressure round and gives more velocity. It is seen as the minimum for personal defense, but I think 380 is fine.
380 may not be as good as 9mm, but it's better than nothing. And the portability of the 380 cannot be beat. That's the big advantage there.

I went and fired the 380 yesterday. That thing scares the frick out of me!!!
My friend brought his Glock 9mm. This 380 has more kick, and because of the short handle, it wants to jump out your hand.
I eneded up buying a grip extension for it so I could get one more finger around it.
I sighted in the laser before I went shooting by just looking sights and getting it close.
At a distance of 25ft, it was pretty dead on. First three shots were center mass in the orange circle.

It definitely isn't fun but know that it's physically impossible for it to jump out of your hand if your finger is in the trigger guard.
And it's good to know you can depend on it if you need it. It serves a good purpose.

I had a little PPK back in the 90s - after all these years, that is still the sweetest shooting little gun I've ever had. I should never have sold it. (Ditto for my P220 - most of its flaws were my fault - aftermarket grip interfered with the pin strike - second sweetest shooting gun I've had and I sold it - the grass is always greener, they say.)

I presume from your post, you plan to keep it in the truck, and then run over the bad guy ??
If so, I'll agree that you have plenty of stoppping power. And if you need something bigger, maybe look at an F350.
p.s. Crawdaddy is correct.
p.p.s. And I agree with 95% of what Bapple posted. (All but the part about .380 being at the lower end of acceptable SD calibers. I'd say that should be 9mm).

you succeeded but will prob just piss someone off for personal defense.
When 7 380s get deposited into your chest a 5ft or less you will be a little more than pissed off.
