So my dad really wants me to make a hunt with him tomorrow (Wednesday) morning near Thornwell. He can't hunt with me anymore as he physically can't do it. He hasn't asked me in a long time. I am leaning towards going but here is the conundrum....

Fog would be a plus but looks like more rain and wind which may be no fog. Then I have to be back in Covington to see patients by 1 pm sharp. I was thinking if going I would hunt until 930 then drive to Covington. Is 3 hours enough time to make it back? Does the weather seem like it's worth waking up at 2 am driving over, hunting returning at 1 pm seeing 40 patients and then crashing?

I keep going back and forth and it's been 25 years since I've hunted near Thornwell I can't make up my mind...

Go Doc, you never know how many more opportunities you will have to hunt with your old man. 3 hours is plenty enough time to make it to Covington (without some frickin idiot truckers shutting down i10 again).

That is what my mind keeps telling me. Seems like no is the right answer especially with likely heavy rain and maybe no fog with the wind.

All that aside it's my dad and a large part of me wants to try but I have to be here for patients also...

How the hell can you see 40 patients in a day?! Don't you have some help in there? ??

Go, do 80 and you will make it back with no problem. Never know if you will have the chance again.

Also what type of Dr are you, I have about 3 different I need to see this year.

Normally but tomorrow is my last day working before Christmas and it's my late night (why I don't have to see patients in the am). So it's more than doable and I have plenty of help but none of them will have Dr in front of their name tomorrow.

All the work in the world wouldn't stop me from fishing with my old man.

I would go. None of my Drs are ever on time for my appointments. The surgeon for my galbladder surgery was typically at least 45 min late for every appointment.

Perfect,

So my vision in my right eye is starting to fade, I am left eye dominant. Will wearing a patch on the left help stop the loss of vision of the right? Regain any vision?

I was 20/20 or better when younger, still not old, 28, noticed the vision slipping in right eye the past couple of years.

Getting from Thornwell to Covington will take three and a half hours if everything works to your favor, considering Baton Rouge traffic and slick road conditions. Plan for that and you might be sliding in to the office about on time, if there are no wrecks.

If you go, and you don't have the free Waze app, download it. It will tell you where the cops are located. It will also tell you if the i-10 has an issue and reroute you.

This. You know DR's get to be late right? I figured ya'll knew that already

If it's been that long since you've hunting with your dad, i would have to give it a shot. They gonna fire you over a few minutes?

When you cross the basin bridge, scroll ahead and look for congestion ahead, if there is, get off at Ramah and take the Rosedale road into Port Allen.

It's going to take 3.5 hours and likely more with holiday traffic

That being said, if he has birds around y'all might be done quick!

Go, like mentioned don't miss out on an opportunity to hunt with your dad, despite weather or circumstance. Also, since you're a doctor we all know none of you give a damn about showing up on time for appointments anyway. Go hunt, get there when you get there, apologize to patients stating you had an emergency procedure, but make sure you do so while wearing camo.
