Not to derail the jeep conversation but it got me thinking about my truck camper.
Where do y'all keep those hard top when they're not on your jeep? I bout my truck used and it came with a camper shell. I'm torn between getting rid of it and keeping it, because I've only used it once, and it's just sitting in the grass behind my shed. I thought about lifting it up inside my shed, but idk if I have the space for it.

I hoist mine up, then put the jeep in neutral and push it out of the garage. Set up a folding table, and lower it down onto that. I have a full basement/garage so storage isn't much of an issue. I've got a pallet with wheels on it that I'm eventually going to use in the summer to store the hardtop on. Then I can wheel it out of the way. But for now, the old folding table works. Mine is for a TJ so the top is only like 150 lbs or so. But I have seen some storage systems people have built using 2x4s and bungee straps.

A lot depends on your age, similar to the motorcycle riders. Seems like when I was in my teens and early 20's, I had soft tops and bikini tops on my jeeps. Bikini tops were great, but, only drove those when there wasn't large rain possibility. But, the jeeps and Broncos were always a 2nd vehicle, that made a huge difference.
Also, remember with soft stuff, you can't lock up anything like guns, or a woman's purse, etc.
Amen to all of this. First time I ever removed the soft top for the bikini top and reinstalled the soft top, I found out real quick that you better reinstall that soft top when it's warm outside. I never had much of a problem with the soft top when it was raining since I always kept a full set of rain gear under the back seat of my CJ 5.

Soft top - Full doors. My first hard top jeep leaked worse than any of my soft tops, not sure if all the header channel and front roof panels (unlimited) leaks have been fixed or not. Half doors were a pain, if you leave the bolt heads out of your door pins and the electrical connector unlocked it was just as quick to take a full door off. Buy yourself a spider web shade they are worth the investment.
