Really wanted to hunt today but the steady rain prevented that.

I'm fortunate enough to have access to some large tracts to hunt. But still hunting in the rain is likely my favorite for deer.

100%. I don't play with it.

Wind in KS took a lot of getting used to. 20' ft high, freezing cold, and a steady 20+ kn wind swaying and creaking big arse hard woods all around you is creepy. Also, adds a challenge to a steady hold.

4yo with iPad

We had a number of deer come and go but most of our action started at sunset. Had a hog within 60 yards, scrambled to get his and my muffs on, get gun up on the pig, pull trigger and I have safety on. I flip it pretty aggressively and the pig spooks off.

Shortly thereafter two bucks cross under barbed wire fence near us. One goes straight to the feeder and the other was mature deer that was real leery. Son started moving and talking and spooked him off(I didn’t get great look but based on tarsal glands and body he was a shooter IMO).

Hog came out 5 min later by feeder and wasted no time with muffs, gun up, safety off this time and fire, DRT. Son was really proud and excited and we exchanged a lot of high 5s. It was not easy bringing a 4yo but confident he’s hooked!
