270 sitting a pipeline with long views in a very comfortable stand.
Haven’t hunted this stand in a morning all year.
Looking for a doe or a good buck (why not both?!?)
Good luck all.

Gf got her son rousted since it’s his last day to hunt, hoping to let him pop a cap in one. Hoping the young forkhorn from yesterday shows up again.

Although I saw some small bucks sniffing after does yesterday, his hocks weren’t dark and corn and acorns seemed to be on his mind more than any tail chasing.

Have heard 2 shots nearby already, maybe they’re moving this morning.

Good luck gang!

Had a couple bucks walk through Around 7:30 yesterday morning on camera. Hope they try that bs again this morning.

ETA….one of them did again at the same time. He was a little smaller than he looked in the foggy pic from yesterday, so he gets to live another day.

Back in the saddle. Came to a new area today because the area I’ve been hunting all week started getting a lot of people throughout the week. Saw a small buck right at first light but I’m waiting for a big one. Packed a sandwich, redbull and portable phone charger. I’ll probably get down midday to eat and stretch, but then getting right back up in the tree.
Good luck everyone! This weather should have them moving good.

I haven’t seen any, but I’ve heard a good bit throughout the week. They stay in the thickets.

Bucks only rifle closes Sunday.

Literally 2 minutes after I posted, the six point I passed on yesterday came out, and the .270 claimed another victim in new hands. He made a great shot, buck only went about 35-40 yards and piled up. And in a dry slough where we could drive right up to him.

Made him wait an hour, even though we heard it quit running almost immediately. Blood smears and high fives were all worth it, and I was able to deliver on another thing his father never took him to do, following smoking the specks when he came in this summer. Great first deer experience for him and me.

Jealous of all of you. Have to wait until Tuesday morning to be back in the woods.

But I did get a picture of maybe the biggest body deer I've seen on our lease last night. Getting super excited.
