but a land rover will be in the shop an exponential amount of time longer than a toyota ETA: if I didn't drive a Tundra, I'd drive a Grand Cherokee
You'd have the same problem with the Grand Cherokee.

You're forgetting about the entire rest of the world

I know, I love the 4 Runners and Land Cruisers, but those GCs just look so damn good...

How so? The Jeep and the Power Wagon have been around just as long as, if not longer, than the FJ, Range Rover, and Nissan Patrol. Not sure what else I'm forgetting.

ETA Land Cruiser 40 (FJ-40)

Land Cruisers, specifically the 80.

And you brought up Jeeps being better than Toyotas. Do they even make a truck?

It's OK you have a Jeep now...

Jeep has been around longer, but show me a jeep that's still running in all the "Stan" countries or Africa. Toyota's are the predominant manufacturer for that part of the world and Australia.
The Original Toyota pickup (1980-1995, pre-Tacoma) is STILL manufactured and used in ALL of the above mentioned countries under the name "Hilux".
Toyota may not have as big a name here in the states as the BIG THREE, but they have LONG been a player in the TRUCK industry in the rest of the world.

Price.
They're ridiculously expensive compared to Ford and GM. Went to a Toyota dealership the other day before I bought my F150, they can only come off sticker a couple thousand. Very nice trucks but not worth the price difference to me.

Our forefathers are rolling over in their graves. Some Japanese company was able to come in and convince all these Americans that their trucks are more Aerican than actual American trucks. With a name like Toyota, sheesh. Does nobody remember Pearl Harbor?

Toyota Tundras are made in San Antonio, Texas, United States of America

Toyota truck/Hilux is easily the most used truck in the world, and has been for 30-40 years. You don't get much better testing than they will, and I can guarantee a Dodge Ram hasn't been to the poles

Nothing American about dodging bankruptcy via government... America is for Free Markets, why aren't you?

Toyota people love to talk about their trucks being assembled in America.
Did Henry Toyota make the Model T way back in the day in the good ol USA? Didn't think so. Not American.

I wouldn't say "more american". Anyone with any sense understands that even though they're "made in america, by americans", they're NOT american trucks.
But, they are undoubtedly some of the most reliable and longest lasting vehicles on the planet.
Can't argue with that.
