I generally don't hear good things about them necessarily. But I enjoy shooting mine.

They were great when they were $69 out the crate. Now all I see them for is $450+. Not worth that imo.

Love mine. Take it deer hunting certain places when running dogs. Killed a good many with it.

There just isn't much aftermarket crap for them.

there's a few things you can get
aftermarket stocks, mags, rails, scope mounts etc
the best sks though is in the wood stock, unmolested

the only PIA is finding decent stripper clips that work
otherwise it is damn near the perfect camp rifle

Not hated...actually loved here. Just glad the little son-of-a-bitch couldn't shoot it with a broke stock it had when my Dad picked it up. Otherwise, I wouldn't be here.

Stock has been replaced since.

I have a Norinco one that I bought at a gun show in 1992 for $89 (plus sales tax).

It's been to the range over 100 times and even went through Katrina flooding.

Still works great.

Only alteration I've made was replacing the 10 round fixed magazine with one of the 20 round fixed mags.

I've got one of the M models they were marketing in the US that accept AK mags and had the short barrel. Love that rifle. Takes a beating and gets dirty riding around on the 4 wheelers and has yet to fail. Not the worlds most accurate rifle but it will hit what you're shooting at as long as you aren't asking too much from it. Not as cool as my AR, but it still hits like a 30-30 so it's better for pigs.

I loved mine ($100). It's the only gun I regret selling.

I love my Yugo, it was given to me by my staff about 10 years ago as a Christmas gift.

As others have said, it isn't the most accurate rifle, but I'd trust it more than an AK if I had to shoot over 150 yards.
