Can you still turn the dome lights/cargo lights on with the dimmer switch if needed?

I want this done to my 2009 f150 as well. Do you have to hook up something like the code reader to program it?

Maybe. I've only fooled with 2011 & 2012

I'll have to read up on f150forum

If you would look into it and let me know I would greatly appreciate it. Would definitely part with a few bags of Sacalait or bass filets (or whole your choice) for it.
Its the only disappointment I have with my truck

I'd probably pay you plenty of white cans and some elk to disable the double honk when you leave the truck with the key fob in your pocket. Can even direct you to the link on how to do it on F150forums.

Try slightly applying the emergency brake, like just a click. It may work.

It aggravates the shite out of me because I only end up doing it super early in the AM or I remember my keys are in my pocket right as that door shuts.
Or my wife opens and shuts her door when mine is open and it triggers the honk for no good reason.

I disabled the automatic door lock setting in the settings menu on the dash, if that helps. There's a setting where the doors will automatically lock when you walk away from the truck with the keys, it also automatically unlocks when you walk back up to the truck. Just disable that and use the key fob or the buttons on the door.
