Haha. No experiences I've had at other places come close to what happened that night. It's a very mysterious place. I highly recommend paddling to a primitive site or get some good gear and backpack in. I live in WNC now and the Chicot primitive sites stand up to a lot of the sites here.

We r.v camp there often. Shouldn't have a problem this time of tad year getting a spot in primitive or rv. Around the major holidays it gets busy. Never seen any crazy shite out there but I can tell ya, the fishing is crazy, at best.

We've camped plenty at Chicot. The only problems we've ever had are usually drunk local 20 somethings in the south campground making noise late. The Rangers make rounds often and keep it under control well.

One more thing about IC. If you have a camper, you cannot put out a tent. I don't know if there is a limit on number of tents when tent camping in the rv area, but I would ask before planning a multiple tent trip.

Thanks for that tidbit. We would have 2 tents total. But would want 1 site for each tent.
