When I was 20 years old I went Salmon fishing in Alaska for a month. I got there in April and the glacier silt concentration was too great for salmon fishing. Of course I didn't know that at the time (no Internet back then and I was an idiot). I had an absolute blast, but the only thing I caught was a wolf. My friend had a pet wolf and when I went to cast, he grabbed my bait. Pet wolfs are sketchy so he ran from me when I tried to take the hook out of his mouth. He ended up spooling me and popping my line.

I have a trip booked this September for a 10 day float trip, has Moose, Brown bear (grizzly), black bear, caribou and wolf on the contract (very doubtful i will get all of them), and we get to fish as much as we want all the way down the river. This is a trip of a lifetime for me and I have been planning it for almost 2 years, as fun as the hunting will be, it will be just as fun for the experience. I go to sleep every night thinking about it, hope to have some great stories and pictures to share

moose. Not much for the taste of salmon. Unless a bear is being a nuisance problem I see no reason to kill them. They are majestic killing machines.

You will have an amazing time. I travel the world for work and get to see a lot of cool places. Alaska is the most majestic place I've ever been to. I prefer the tropical rain forests (Alaska has rain forests), but Alaska holds a very special place in my heart. Prepare to be blown away.

Salmon fishing. I have no desire to kill a bear (or cat or canidae for that matter), and there's no real challenge in shooting something you can walk up to and hit in the head with a hammer. However, I bet moose burgers are tasty.

Moose can get a bit testy, can't they.

I have heard this before. The ones I've encountered we're not scared at all. They would let me get within 5 feet of them. At the time, I didn't know they were aggressive. Ignorance is a bliss.
