I have been listening to guides, buddies, etc and fishing mobile bay And there is no doubt in northern gulf fishing is a full month ahead of schedule. I just checked the water temperature for mobile bay and we are almost solid 68 degrees. ( if you don't know why that is magic number ask someone) that is typically where we are right about April 15.

I know about numerous reports of spawning bass, fish with eggs, etc all over the bay. Trout are being caught in flats now just like you would expect in late April and may.

Cobia run should already be started and kings and the other Pelegics should start arriving soon if they are not already here.

A guide told me yesterday that we will have an April and May to remember. I know of a 7 pound speckled trout caught yesterday morning under the Causeway.

I caught 3 limits of reds on Thursday. I was thinking the same thing about this upcoming spring.

We are on fire down here around St Petersburg. Snook season started on the first. It's been a good start but while fishing Tuesday night we hooked this bad boy.

It's a tad early for consistent Tarpon but they are rolling in already. Fishing 60lb braid with 60lb fluoro trying to muscle out some snook off structure and pow! Helluva rush!

Heading home from BL right now. Finished with 20 and had 4-6 over 3 lbs. Trout are moving up to the flats. Water temp was 69* so we are a full month ahead.
