The old pair I have are Nikon Monarchs I believe. However, they're old as shite and heavy. That's why I was looking for something new with these gift cards.

Don't ever look through a pair, because not much else compares to them

Don't ever look into a pair of Swarovski 10x40 ELs... its not fair. Also, if you are going to compare go to the store at night and ask to take them outside. Go to a as dim as a place as you can find and look and compare. Many binoc/scopes are made to look good under manufactured light. Take those sum bitches outside in the dark and see who makes a real quality product. I worked in this business several years ago.... i would take people outside to show them the real difference in binocs and scopes. Never failed, if they were on the borderline..... it was either Zeiss, Leica or Swarovski for binocs and either Schmidt & Bender or Swarovski for the scope. The company didn't mess around with cheap shite.... we sold high end product, but carried bushnell, nikon, leupold and burris....

I got the vortex diamondback 10x42 for Christmas and love them. Everything I read online researching them was positive and I've talked to some military and police guys who say that a lot of snipers are starting to use vortex. Also have a no questions asked warranty

I'd be scared to death to carry those around. I would scratch the first time I used them.

It's like guns. I never buy the fancy grades. I have two Citoris--both field grade with no fancy engraving. Those are the two highest dollar guns I have. I am tough on stuff. Can't hold it without scratching it.
