gulfport/biloxi. The idiots are calling it a Jubilee like they have in Mobile Bay.

Not at all a jubilee.

the flounder look like they are from a "jubilee" not a red tide.

Long Beach/Pass Christian is what WLOX said.

As is the case here, a Mobile Bay jubilee is caused by low oxygen content in the water that forces sea life closer to the shore where there is slightly higher oxygen content.

Yeah--it's pretty much the same as a jubilee.

Damn that is some easy pickens along that beach. Might as well stick em and put some fish in the freezer.

Looks like a jubilee to me, I was down in grand isle a few years back and the same thing happened and I was told it was a jubilee. It is to my understanding that if it were a red tide the water would have an amber or red tint to it, that water looks pretty normal to me.

Just my 2 cents..

If I'm not mistaken, "jubilees" are specific to mobile bay. Anything else is hypoxia.

They are not specific to mobile bay to my knowledge, however, mobile bay is the only place where they are regularly occurring. They have been reported in other parts of the world, but it is not very often.

Would they hit a lure or are you limited to pitch forks?

if it's a red tide, where are the pics of the actual red tide?

jubilees can and will cause fish death as well.

It's not a red tide. It's hypoxia caused by little to no wind and high temperatures.

I think some guy picking up fish said it was a red tide. The DMR says its hypoxia.
