Anyone ever have success? I've heard mixed reviews and have personally never killed while it was raining.

Storm forecast for this weekend makes me nervous, but this is my last hoorah for the year so i have to go.

If its pouring buckets, be on your stand. Those monsters are scent checking everything.

Its the best time to hunt pressured deer, other than night time, which is frowned upon.

I am in the same boat...last change thurs-sun and its looking like rain and warm. The wind looks calm at around 5mph. No idea if it will be good or not but ill be in the stand.

We killed the oldest most mature deer on our property in the rain. A 215lb monster we had never seen before

I killed a monster in the rain earlier this year. They'll move.

Does it mess with the times they may move...like is it more likely of day time mid day movement? In between showers?

Yes. Make sure you put them on the ground quick. Blood trailing can get tricky if too much rain, especially late afternoon.

You have a 100% better chance of being in your stand in the pouring rain than killing one from your living room.

I definitely see deer in the rain. BUT, the last one i shot it was raining so hard i mistook a little button buck for a doe. Made a bad shot and had to slit his throat as he screamed and cried for his momma.

still breaks my damn heart.

NEVER AGAIN

Son killed one this year in the pouring rain. He was in a box stand. Dad was in his ladder stand with a wet arse.

I've hunted in a downpour with a bow in a lock-on when it was 36 degrees and saw plenty of deer. Sometimes they'll bed down if it's really bad, but it's not like they can go inside

I killed 2 in the rain last season. Not pouring rain, but shitty weather none the less.

I hunted back on the 6th while it was sleeting like heck in Hale County.

Had luck in seeing a nice 7pt and a bunch of does but was looking for a 8pt to shoot while in the shooting house of the field.

I only hunt climbers and tend to sit out during the rain because I'm not a fan of having a wet arse and wet gear. With that said, my favorite time to hunt is right after the rain. I usually hang out under cover and as soon as the rain stops, I walk straight to the stand. The bucks start moving to freshen up rubs and scrapes. Typically if it's gun season on the wma, I just tough it out. I don't like my bow getting wet though.
