This thread got me to thinking big time about reliving some of my mistakes. Another piece of advice: Always keep a spare ignition key for your boat motor, attach something that will float to your boat ignition key, and always keep spare fuses under the motor cover for your outboard motor. Not that I had to learn this the hard way or anything like that.

always wear glasses when fishing. They protect your eyes

Great advice. Fishing leads as the most common eye injury sport.

If you friend is going to shoot at crows directly overhead with an automatic 12 gauge, don't stand at the 5 o'clock position unless you want the ejected shell to carve an arch in your front teeth...

PSA - Prior to hauling your boat to the marine repair when it won't fire up, check the damn kill switch first.

Don't stand there to shade your daugters eyes with your hands while wearing a short sleeved shirt. 22 casings will burn the shite out of your underarms.

The more I hear about fly fishing the less I wanna try it.

When you are fly fishing with your dog, either you're gonna set a hook in him or yourself trying to prevent the latter.. the same applies to most women

so de-barb your hooks if you take your dog or gf fishing

Nope, extra tshirt or towel. If you get wet, the tp is useless. Can wipe an arse with a wet tshirt or towel.

If you plan to wade in water deeper than your waist wear a wading belt with your waders.

I use baby wipes in a ziplock bag. I discovered that years ago when my kids were little and never quit it.

yep baby wipes will cut just about any grime too. They are great for removing grease paint from your face.

Whether Hunting/Fishing/Shooting/Exploring have a medical plan.

Who calls 911, who does first aid, who drives the car, where are the medical supplies, where is the hospital, etc etc. Ill have to check my notes because I forget somethings unless Im doing these activities.

Safety is often the last thing on people's minds. I carry a basic fist aid kit with me everywhere. Ive never used it in like 5 or 6 years. This weekend at BPs lease we used every single band aid in that kit. It has been replenished, but Im glad I had it.

Nothing serious, just some cut fingers. Dad dropped a knife and for some reason tried to catch it. Cut the tip of his finger and just bandaged it everytime we went out.

Brings up another point:

If a knife falls get out the way, dont try to catch it.

Do they have to be red or was that just your high school colors back in the 70s?
