In my lease the last deer would have been let go for a kid or lady.

But I am def not critical of somone who kills within their own clubs rule book.

That is all that really matters.

Oh, and hunting behind walker hounds is awesome.

This type of thing is what gives coonass' a bad name. Kill everything in sight with no respect for the outdoors

No truer words. The 3rd would've had to have a self clean button implanted in his arse for me to shoot it. It's just more gun to say I'd kill em all

The guys are just happy to hear a good race, get the blood pumping, and hear some shotgun blasts. Then when it's all over we sit around and laugh and drink a beer and talk about the ones that got away. No jealous pretentious a-holes to worry about, just good folks from age 9-93 having fun and hunting deer. What a novel idea.

That sounds like the best kind of club.

I love how south La guys claim that basket racks are trophies down there. Of course they are. Especially when no patch of woods goes untouched by a pack of dogs and a bunch of coonasses with shotguns.

Some will say the guy was greedy. I can agree with that. I've had moments of weakness and done the same thing. Doesn't make it ok.

You're just upset cause most coonass' would stomp a mudhole in you and walk it dry.

And just because it doesnt match someones view of proper herd management or hunting practice, doesnt make it bad or wrong.

I wont join a dog club, but if you do and expect a majority of members to vote for quality deer management practices I dont know what to tell you.

Hunting and fishing is supposed to be fun. One mans bream bed haul is anothers Lake Fork 11 pounder.

Well, the limit is three bucks a year, as long as he didn't exceed that he's ok in my book. Maybe a little greedy, but he was "in the zone" that week.

I understand you believe strongly in herd management. That's one of the new things about modern deer hunting that I have not adapted to, yet. Although, this season was the first time I ever let a buck walk that would have been an easy, standing, clear shot; just because he had a little basket rack.

If the legal limit was two bucks, do you think hunters would focus on mature deer earlier in the season and let more small ones walk? How many hunters actually kill three bucks in a season regularly? I've only done that once.

Not shooting a buck smaller than one you've already killed isn't a new concept or exactly herd management. Like I said though. I've done the same and won't judge the guy.

I will judge him for using dogs. I have no respect for anyone that shoots a deer while running dogs. Congrats on hitting a moving target with a scatter gun

And not two shits were given by anyone who fed a pack all year to enjoy a few days of working with man's best friend.

I tried my best effort to get this thing kicked off a few hours ago with no luck. Now with the comments about not respecting another man because of the way he chooses to deer hunt just might give this baby some wings.

what the heck is wrong with running dogs. you got the land and the money, go for it!

He had the hunt of a lifetime for him and where and how he hunts. way to go.

the club I'm in ran dogs years ago. Nobody wants to go back.

the club across the creek runs dogs. guess where everybody is when dogs open? within a ridge of the creek. lol

Idgaf if you care or not. Run those dogs near me and one crosses the property line and ill invite you over to retrieve his collar and corpse

( Of course im not that dumb. Shooting a dog is illegal. If I can catch the dog ill bring it to the pound. if not im not responsible for it being found ever again)
