How’s the 2nd split going for everyone?

3 man limit on specks this morning. Had a chance at some widgeon and mallards but the geese were crazy thick in Gueydan. How’d opening morning go for y’all?

Were just south of y’all and did well. Saw lots of teal. Specks were everywhere too.

Yeah I was pretty encouraged that even if the ducks aren’t what they’ve been, we’ll be able to knock down some geese pretty consistently. Was a good first morning.

I hunted my blind at Pecan Island. 2 teal killed. Very few birds. Worst split opener ever.

Limited out in Venice birds are thick with a lot of teal, greys, and pintail

First time in 35 years we didn't fire a shot on opening morning of the 2nd split. Perfect Duck weather too.

Dularge this morning. Never seen it this bad. Maybe saw 50 ducks. Killed 1 ring neck,1 summer French and a pair of of smiling french.

The wife and I shot a two man limit, one grey, one Spoonie, and the rest teal.

Buddy of mine was next to y’all in 3B and didn’t fire a shot. Said water was super low and grass was thick. They only had a small hole in front of them.

On the way home from work today, while traveling east from lake charles to carencro, i must have seen about 6k to 8k geese flying south over I10 around 5pm between welsh and jennings.
