Real wood, jacobean stain. Builder told us to use nothing but 4:1 vinegar to water and a microfiber cloth deal.

Looks decent after doing that but it just doesn't get it clean enough. I can wet a paper towel and wipe the floor right after and it's still dirty.

What do y'all recommend that is safe for the floor?

Four parts vinegar to one part water is waaaay to strong for wood.

vinegar and water is not cleaning, because it has no surfactant to break down the surface tension of the water. Murphy oil soap is specifically made for cleaning wood. Try some out...it is a very old product and doesn't cost much at all. Fwiw, it also works very well for bathing dogs!

Do NOT use Murphy's oil soap you need to get more microfiber cloths. What finish do you have on top of the stain.

Bona hardwood floor cleaner. Ours is hard to keep clean with 3 boys under 10. Microfiber dust mop works in between cleanings.

Not doubting you but that's looks a lot lighter than jacobbean. But that's neither here nor there.

We use bona and microfober to clean. Try to do it as seldom as possible lol
