Someone at a gun store will gladly show you. Of course I learned from a buddy, but it is fairly simple. With a Semi-Auto you just need to know how to strip it and reassemble. The actual cleaning is straight forward.

TU Rob is right in that most gun stores will show you how. Most modern semi automatics are extremely easy to field strip also.

Here's my YouTube video describing my cleaning process. But know that most modern semi automatics will run with little to no maintenance. I only clean mine after about 600-1000 rounds, unless it's my 1911.

I don't remember which year I last cleaned my XD. Went to the range back in May and put 250 rounds through it no problem. Ran a snake through the barrel a couple of times and loaded fresh carry ammo back in it.
