How much would you pay for a deer lease 15 miles from home?

I know there are tons of variable like management, expectations, numbers of hubters etc.

Let's just say plenty of deer and possibility for a walk hanger every year (whatever that may be to you) and not overly crowded.

Just curious what you guys would pay for that, especially those that drive long distances to hunt.

I probably pay less than anyone else and my lease is 15 min from my house.

I know some folks who pay ~$50/acre for that....not sure how many folks are splitting it but it's several thousand a piece at least

I'd pay OT baller money for it

Depends but 2k is ballpark. Then again its always nice to be actually away. Nothing better than having no cell reception.

I pay nothing right now. Hard to beat that. Next year that won't be the case

Part of the reason I hunt is to get away from the house, work, and enjoy some quiet, so thats kind of a downer, but the ability to make a hunt getting off of nights would definitely be a bonus and would be able to hunt 3+ days a week. Most of the hunting land around me is either pasture or swamp which I'd have a hard time paying St. Francisville/Woodville money.

$1000-1500 seems reasonable I guess.

If you "hypothetically" have a place 15 minutes from somewhere in the Feliciana's looking for a hunter, I might know a guy

15 min is way too close. If my wife knows how to get to where I hunt, I need to be farther away.

Don't let her follow you.

We were lucky enough to get 500 acres for my immediate family about 15 years ago. I can be on my stand in 20 minutes. Its very nice, but nor a good camp sight anymore. Its 800 for all of it.

But I'd be willing to pay that myself for the right situation.

15 minutes from my place includes Orleans and St Tammany Parish and maybe the edge of Mississippi across the Pearl.

If I could lease the exclusive right to hunt Bayou Savage NWR, I'd pay several thousand.

I'd pay a lot more if I could find a place that manages for big bucks and has a camp. Getting the connections for such places is hard though.

I pay $600 yearly to hunt 15 min from the house and have none of the above. Just enjoy hunting with my powpow. Hopefully I can find something else soon.

I work with a guy in this situation, its a 4 wheeler ride from his house. He hunts every afternoon when he gets off of work. Thats pretty sweet, I'd pay big to be able to do that.

What you've described is EXACTLY what I've got this year

15 min from my carport to gate
2200 acre
10 members
Food plots, corn, protein feeders year round
On DMAP
The "rules" for adults is 130" 8pt, 140" 10pt (those "rules" have not been followed)
Allowed 2-3 does, 2 cull bucks, 2 trophy bucks (full membership)
I'm doing half membership (1-2, 1, 1)

This eve I saw 11 deer. I've seen 6-16 deer on approx 75% of approx 25 hunts
We've had members see 20-36 deer in one hunt

So far, 21 does and 7 bucks killed (oops spike, one heavy old cull, one 100", four 110-115" bucks)
Have multiple pics of 120-130" bucks. We all keep thinking there HAS to be bigger bucks
A 170" buck killed there two years ago

Last year was first year of club. Before that, 0-2 bucks taken per year for previous 6-7 years

I've passed twice on a 115-120" high horned 8pt
