I use about 10 sacks a season (Sept - Dec) in 3 broadcast feeders. I keep them set on low output so it lasts because AR is 5.5 hours away.

Now I'm pissed; I just realized I buy more pounds of corn than I get in venison.

At least the price is down this year. I'm paying 5.50 for corn and 4.85 for rice bran in Ruston.

Maybe a sack of rice bran a year during bow season to try and stick a stupid doe. I've never seen a nice buck eating feed in the daylight. Now that I've got some nice processing equipment I'll probably feed more and shoot 2 or 3 does depending on how many deer we're seeing.

Nope I'm serious. Then we put about 1000lbs of corn out that we get when we are up there.

So, let me get this straight. When you bring 4k pounds of feed and distribute in 6 troughs, you are putting 600+ pounds a week per trough.

I'm sorry, but there is no way in fricking hell deer eat that much a week!

We recently started protein during rut and through summer dropping corn off as the season ends and beginning again in late August early September. I'm pretty happy with protein results.
