Not lost in a boating accident Actually stolen..

Had my truck broken into last weekend and my Shield 9mm was stolen (along with a few knives). Yes, I know I’m an idiot for keeping it in my truck. But I survived 8 years in Baton Rouge and never had it stolen, moved up to the country in Tennessee and this happened.

For those who have, did you ever get it back? Just wondering if I’m likely to get it back one day. I’m hoping the guy is dumb enough to try and pawn it but I doubt it.

Had my back glass in old pickup broken and 12 gauge stolen, I was living in the ghetto. You couldn’t see the gun as it was behind the seat of a single cab, speakers and gun stolen

My friend had a glock taken from his truck in BR, it was used in a crime and they contacted him letting him know he will get it back once it's all over. It's been like 4 years.

Yeah I have a Silverado and it was in the compartment under the center seat. Unless you’re familiar with Silverados or are a criminal you wouldn’t have known to look there. Guess I should’ve at least locked it. Lesson learned

The worst part was honestly the broken glass. That shite was everywhere

Yup. Stolen from my car. Ruger P85. Years later I get a call from the dealer that sold it it had been found in a murder case. It was kept in the evidence locker room for more years till the trial was over they still wouldn't release it & I had to get a damn court order. When I finally got it back it was covered in dried blood. I never cleaned it. Keep it that way for sentimental value. ...

This is what happened to me. I had my kimber stolen and it was used in a crime. I called once a month for a status update. Finally got it back 3-4 years after it was stolen.

Actually I have. Remington 870 and a Winchester level action 30-30. Both were given to me in the late 70's by by dad. Still get pissed when I think about it.

Well now I feel a little better knowing I may get it back eventually. I imagine the kind of people who steal guns don’t use them like the folks on this board do It’ll eventually be used in a crime or pawned. Guy I work with had the TBI call him after 5 years and he got his back once the case was resolved

You think you are? I forgot and left my pistol in my console when valet parking at a hotel in New Orleans, it of course was stolen. Now, that’s being an idiot.

Damn. This one was my least expensive and not sentimental so I guess that’s the silver lining. Sorry to hear that. I’d feel the same way if they’d gotten one of the ones my grandfather has given me

I don't leave anything of value in my vehicles and I'm surrounded by much better demographics.

I couldn't imagine leaving anything of value in BR.

Yes a 1911 .22 cal. The dirtbag was caught, he said he threw it in a storm drain in BR. 4 months later I receive a $400 check. Judge made him pay restitution. I was shocked

You even admitted it but I still have the urge to call you an idiot

My console lockbox is my favorite thing. Sure it’s not impervious but it would be damn hard for a thief to get into, especially a third just pulling car doors looking for a quick haul.

Had my Springfield XD .45 stolen out of my truck several years ago. A little over a year ago I got a call that the local PD had it, it was found in a drug raid. Looked just like it did when they took it.

I had my REM 700P in 7mag stolen from my truck during deer season . Never got it back. Luckily my insurance company covered it. Still made me sick and pissed in the same breath. Good luck!

Had my ruger lcp .380 stolen in houston in about 2015, while at work. 12:30 in the afternoon.

fricker jabbed a flat head into the keyhole of my truck and apparently it will open right up. cop told me all fords are targeted. he threw my checkbook, gps, and other shite on the ground and only took the pistol. hit another ford around the other parking lot.

i hated that pistol, but still butthurt. the cost to replace the digital keypad he fricked up is more expensive than the pistol. that keyhole is staying broke.

Me in 1982 out of my car in my parents driveway in south BR. BR sheriffs dept returned it to me 5 years later when it was found in a house they busted with a shite load of stolen goods. I had my name and number on a piece of paper sealed into the stock and they found it and contacted me and it matched my dads registration info on address (he bought it for me for Christmas one year).

Like a dipshit I sold it a couple of years later. It was a 1978 Marlin 30-30. I'd give 2K for that gun back today.

Edit: Actually it was a Glenfield model bought from Howard Bros. store in Gonzales.
