Caught a limit of drum yesterday between 2 and 5. Iced them down good. Working a double today so I wasn't able to get to them. Just stopped home for a minute. Drained the water. Added more ice. I probably have 40 pounds of ice on too of them. Plan on cleaning them first thing in the am.

When you buy fresh fish at a fish market, how long do you think those fish have been out of the water?

That's not a big deal. I wouldn't think twice about it. If I had iced them down good yesterday, I wouldn't have even checked them today.

Thought so. I normally just eat my redfish on the boat.

I've had a bag of specks on ice for 5 days. You'll be fine.

Your biggest problem now is gonna be having them hard as a rock when you go to cleaning em. They'll keep just fine until tomorrow, though

I'm so disappointed with the OB.

There is a missing question that must be answered in order to give accurate answer.

Are the fish in a Yeti or not?

I have cleaned fish the next day after keeping them on ice all night before.
But I was wary... No problems though.

I've eaten raw tuna out of the fridge with ice on it as well for several days.

Never drain all the water. The ice water mix much more encapsulating than just ice.

Is the old tale true that once the eyes start fogging over, it's no longer good to clean/keep?
