Was offered a hog that was shot 7 days ago. Was packed down with ice Saturday when shot. Iced again Tuesday, then again Thursday. The water was never drained. Everything looks fine. If ya'll think its good to go I'll pack it first thing in the am

Water never drained? Marinating in that blood for a week would be the killer for me.

If it was continually iced with plug left open to flush the meat, I'd be cool with it. Almost like aging it.

follow your nose...if meat is spoiled, it gets funky smelling really fast...

7 days in bloody water would cause me to pass.
wet aging is not the same as water soaking

I'd drain it and give it the sniff test. If it doesn't smell foul, you're good. Buy some fresh ice and pack it well. I'd go ahead and freeze it when you get home.

I kept some 4 days once, but I changed the ice out and drained.

proteins, air and water above 32 degrees is a Petri dish
I would be very very careful
if it had been kept cold and dry it would be a whole different situation

I'm sure it's fine. I've left hog meat iced for almost 2 weeks. If it's bad, you'll know by the smell.
