So my brother in law took my work truck on a military base last week while I was out of town. Little did he know, one of my pistols was in there. They searched and found it. I now have to go to said base on Thursday. They confiscated the pistol.

I think you are fine. You aren't the one who broke the rule, he is.

Should be able to get it back. Eventually.

You could be screwed, but if you explain the situation and aren't a douche I bet nothing will happen. What base was it?

They can be dicks there.
He's in more trouble than you, but doesn't AL have a law where you can't have a loaded gun in the vehicle unles you are a CC holder?

It's incredible this is an issue at all. Apparently we didn't learn anything from Ft. Hood.

Was it a Glock? If so, they will not be able to contain the awesomeness. It will magically appear under your bed pillow I'm a few days.

Sounds like someone needs an arse whooping for starters.

How did he get the keys cause surely it was locked if the pistol was in it? Purdy sure you'll get asked this question when you go to the base.

You should be golden, they will probably just give it back since you were not the one who went on base with it. The only thing that might possibly delay things is all the bases are at a higher level of security right now. Good luck though!

What did he do that they searched the truck? They never searched anything in Mayport, it has been 16 years though.
In Mayport, if you did not have stickers, stop and get a pass and get waved through the gate.

My father in law owns the company that we work for. He just started working with us while I was out of town. I don't ever go on the Arsenal so therefore my truck didn't have a decal, and so it was searched.

I got ya. I wouldn't think you'd have problem getting the gun back, after you explain what happened.

You may want to wipe it down before use, though.

Security at Red Stone can be tight at times. It's not unusual for folks who are in contact with space aliens & extra terrestrials to show up needing to talk to NASA
