How would you go about training your dogs to fish?

The dog knows to release the fish on the dock where the 4"x 4" posts are placed under the rails so the fish can't flop back into the water.

That's impressive. I wouldn't have thought a dog could dive like that.

My old lab would get stuff off the bottom of the shallow end. Never trained him to, he just always would do that. If you would throw a dummy out in the bayou, and he had trouble seeing it once he swam out, he'd go under looking for it as well. That would freak me out sometimes.

I used to live on Perdido Bay in Alabama. I had a Weimaraner and a Blue Heeler who would both fish, including diving for fish. They caught mullet on a regular basis, and the occasional speck. Sadly, they've both passed now. Awesome to watch. Thanks for sharing.
