Find a gun buy back and sell it to them if there's one in your area

Doesn't have a barrel. Not sure what happened to it. It's a JC Higgins model 88. In a better life anyway.

You don't have a firearm. You have parts from what used to be a firearm.

Assuming you could find a barrel on line (see below), that looks like a salvageable firearm if you do not mind ugly and want to hold onto something that belonged to your father.

There are 2 listed on gun broker right now between $225 and 295. Lots of little parts for sale if you wanted to make a buck selling yours.

There is a barrel for sale for $70.

Having said all that, if you live in a free state, I do not think you are under any obligation to perform some sort of formal ceremonial gun destruction.

Actually, in all honesty, I will take it if you are in Baton Rouge and want to wash your hands of it. I have been looking for an inexpensive revolver for 22 snake shot.

It would cost you more for the parts than just buying the gun for $225. I added it up. It's $213 (without shipping) for all of those parts that would be needed. And the $225 gun doesn't require anything.

Seriously, why not just chunk that pile of junk off the nearest Mississippi River bridge?
