The holster I currently use fits the firearm loosely and I am not comfortable carrying with it. It seems like it could fall out. I don't want one with one of those plastic latches but I am not opposed to a snap over the top.

Has anybody used this one? How tight is the retention? It has some pretty good reviews

Just curious, why wouldn't you want to use a Blackhawk?

cheap garbage. any decent class prohibits their use, so if he does any combative handgun work he'd have to get 2 holsters. might as well get a good one

It's conducive to NDs. The way you have to use pressure on the retention button to unlock almost forces you to keep your finger there the entire draw and it makes it easy for your finger to slip into the trigger guard and cause a ND because of inward pressure from the index finger.

Is this for concealed or open carry? Where are you carrying if concealed?

What kind of holster materials are you looking at, Kydex, leather or hybrid?

A properly made holster should be tight enough that the gun's not going to fall out of the holster, even w/o latches or snaps. Nevertheless, you need to buy and carry what you're comfortable w/.

I have a Blade Tech for my XDS that is similar to the one you linked. It has great retention, and I carry it a good bit in that holster.

I find bravo concealment to be pretty good for the price. I also like my GCode appendix holster.

The gun mainly stays in the car. I like to carry when I'm in the woods which is often. The iwb holster I have now is leather and the gun slips out easily so I normally use a cheap bulky academy holster. I'm looking to get something I can actually use if I decide to start carrying more.

wright leather works

Wright leather works makes excellent holsters. The link is to their holster which can be worn IWB and OWB. I can assure you that the holster will be snug and will fit your gun like a glove.

Desantis soft tuck. It’s leather I carry iwb appendix. My gun doesn’t budge. Now I’m not gonna go roll down a hill or anything but hell who does.

nah, they're trash. used to be pretty good, but our last batch had awful retention and horrid stitching. them and crossbreed have gone to shite as they've grown.
