if you realize that "you fixed your boat, now float in it" is analagous to "you made your bed now sleep in it" then you should be good.

Stick a piece of plywood on that sucker and layer it with fiberglass/resin or vice a versa, then paint. Your welcome. Tell your brother you drop the anchor in the water, not the boat.

Check La Sportsman. I saw an ad there that made me feel like the guy was very good. Seriously. It was while I was scrolling through the boat ads and can't remember how I stumbled on it.

I agree with BleedingPurple. Fix it yourself. I did after putting a softball sized hole in my fiberglass boat.
I even posted a thread when I did it three seasons ago.

Hope your brother is planning on paying for that. You are looking at $1,000 + for a shop to repair that the right way.

Mackie knows his stuff. Also Southern Fiberglass in New Iberis. Theo is very good. Both are long time customers of mine and do very good work.

Yeah... But my insurance co said that if damage doesn't exceed replacement cost then they will fix. I put insurance a couple years back b/c of where I fish...you have to carry a million dollar liability policy... Boat has more sentimental value than anything though, was with my uncle the day he bought it new in 96 He passed away 5 yrs ago and my aunt gave it to me

Insurance won't pay for a Gorilla Hull?

I know they are more than $2500.
