The one you shoot most accurately with the range you need.

You will be hard pressed to find a better caliber than either of the 2 you already have.

FWIW - I think the 7mm Mag is the "best" caliber out there if you can shoot it accurately.

I like the 270 for two reasons. One is that the lighter recoil allows me to shoot it most accurately. I love my T3 and I can drive nails with it.

The second is that my family has standardized to 270 to keep ammo simple. We keep 4-5 boxes of 270 on the shelf in the camp.

Nothing worse than being 30 miles from the nearest ammo store and being out of bullets when everyone around you shoots a different caliber.

That's a damn good idea.

I love my 270. I think more people can shoot a 270 accurately because of low recoil.

7mm is great if you can handle the recoil and blast.

My favorite is .300 win mag, but as mentioned, the best caliber is the one you can shoot most accurately and precisely.

Can't go wrong with either. I've got .270 and .308.
Sighted in a 7mag for a guy once without ear protection (dumb I know), and decided at that point I will never own one of those. I know they are a great caliber all the way up to elk, but the others are as well.

They're all loud but a 7mag with a boss is an eardrum widowmaker.
