I've put in here the last few yrs, but haven't drawn a tag. We got a bunch of gators in the delta. Need to get more liberal with the tags.

With all of the people bidding 80-100% on $15/ft alligators, tags aren't worth trying to get anymore unless you just want to do it for fun or have private land.

I just wanna do it for fun. We do have a some land leased with a lake on it that has some big arse gators, but they give out very few in the entire state. I think just like 15 in our zone.

If you have a trapping lease and waterfront property you should be able to get a tag or two or maybe more depending on the acreage. You're pissing in the wind if you're messing with state land these days.

Prices seem to be on the up this year.
I've seen 40 for ten foot plus (whole).
I've also seen 42.50 for 8 foot plus (skinned).
Not as good as before the crash, but its getting there.

If you are messing with the bid portion, you are pretty much screwed. It f'd me pretty bad when they decided to no longer allow guided hunts on state lands.

I know how those boys are making money bidding at 100%, I just don't know why they are wanting to work that hard.

People doing guided hunts is what was screwing us. We were getting plenty tags at 20-30% and doing very well. The people bidding 100 and selling hunts were screwing us.

A bunch of them aren't making shite. They bid high because they want tags to go play swamp people and then figure out that its way more work than fun.

They also don't have much incentive to fill their tags because they aren't getting paid anyway. It leads to people shooting big gators out of boats because they cant or don't want to put in the time to set and run lines. There's no way people shooting out of the boat have anywhere close to a 100% recovery rate on alligators.

Swamp people and the crash screwed it up. A whole bunch of young "sportsman" didn't even know alligator trapping was going on and it was better that way.

My whole family put in for tags for Beouf River game reserve & daughter & her BF got drawn. Three tags each
