Been coming down to fish Hopedale for 10 yrs for specs with a group but it got called off due recent storms (thanks 2020). I’ve never been to False River, LA but had an invite to stay at someone’s camp since the trip cancelled. They don’t fish but have a boat I can use. Any tips/patterns for November bass there? Sure would appreciate any advice.

We call it poo poo lake.
Grab a crank bait. Actually two or three crankbaits. Chunk at piers. Chunk at piers. Chunk at piers. Chunk at piers. You get the idea.

Thanks for the input. Probably need to take a few 12 oz crank baits too. Hopefully won’t catch too much poo.

I hope your casting arm is in good shape. Besides Poo Poo Pond, we also call it "The Lake of 1000 Casts"

There’s some bass there but it’s tough. They’ve really turned it into a commercial/leisure lake. Just fish the piers and sea walls and you might have some success.

The fishing actually is pretty decent during the cold weather months.

Don't hesitate to throw a jig/worm/brush hawg at any bulkhead ("seawall"), at rocks/rubble along stretches that don't have piers, and under piers.
Not saying to not throw crankbaits - just add this as well until you get a sense of what works.
The canals at the north end of the lake are sometimes really good in cold weather.
The best thing about False River right now is that the water/weather is getting too cold for skiers and jet skis.
Disclaimer: I haven't fished False River in years. Used to fish tournaments there (occasional club tournament, but mostly what passed for "pro" tournaments in those days). I placed in the money at every "pro" tournament I fished there - but I hate fishing there and wouldn't go there again unless I was forced to.
