We're staying at a camp down the road from Campo's. I would assume thats where we're going to launch...where are the specs hitting at right now? Trying to get an idea of where the guide is going to take us. We'd like to fish around Breton Island or in the Sound, but want him to take us where the fish are, being that we dont really know the area all that great.

also, any place to eat and have a few drinks once we get down there Thursday evening?

If you are using a guide, I'm going to go out on a limb and assume you are headed to either the rocks and/or the sound.

The rocks have been producing good numbers of trout, especially on the weekdays.

And good numbers of boats.

Head to the outside of the Biloxi Marsh. You'll do better there and find less pressure.

In Shell Beach? Nope. 20 minutes from any and everything.

He's probably going to take you to the best place he knows to catch fish. That's why you hired him. Are you going to tell him where to go? If not, and you shouldn't, just relax and go fishing.

I'll be down there at the slippy slide all day Saturday.

Then we'll just hit Rocky and Carlo's on the way down

Don't dismiss the rocks. Years ago a buddy and I took our kids to the rocks. He and I were so busy taking fish off the hooks and baiting them that he and I didn't get a chance to wet a line ourselves.

We bought all of our bait and gas from Blackie Campo. Some of the best days of my life were spent in Shell Beach.

Specks may be out of the question, early forecast looks horrific. I've seen wind estimates up to 20-25kts for Saturday. Disappointed because I was supposed to be fishing out of Hopedale this weekend.

Did any of the Campo guys tell you the story about the guy that tried to re-fuel his boat by sticking the nozzle into his rod holder and going inside?
Funny as hell. I love when the StBarnarsians get in to a story like that! Not for the prudish fer sure.

Gonna be down there all weekend, take what the wind gives you. May have to take a trout haul off your plan and hit up the marsh for reds/blk drum/sheeps whatever. Adapt and conquer, cook & drink beer, watch CWS, repeat.
