Taking the yak out there this weekend for the first time. Any reports, tips, advice for the area? Anything is appreciated. Thanks!

If you're looking for redfish, go north. If you're looking for trout, I have not the slightest clue where to look.

How's the kayak launch there? And where do you stay?

The new kayak launch across from the marina is pretty nice, I suggest using it, it's $5 per kayak. Eddy is good people and will usually help you load/unload, offer tips and beer. Also, be careful when crossing the canal when headed out as the current can get moving pretty good when the tide moves. Can't really offer much tips as far as where to go as I've only been a couple of times.

The new kayak launch is nice. You can back up right to it, pull your kayak out and go. Eddie helped me both Saturday and Sunday morning this past week. I will be out there again this Saturday. The water has been a little dirty, but reds are in the broken marsh area almost any direction. You can find trout, but nothing big, most have been 12-14 inches with throwbacks.

lots of redfish to be caught! head in almost any direction and fish likely looking spots.
trout are in good shape as well but farther out than any sane person would be willing/able to paddle. we got on them for a little while saturday am till my lower unit went out. thank goodness for the terrebone parish sheriff!

I saw a ton of yaks fishing the marsh across from the first camp from the marina. Looked like water was moving pretty good through there. We stayed in the main channel with shrimp and minnows and caught a nice mix of fish.
