Woke up this morning and found both my truck and wife's explorer had been gone through. All they got out of my truck was a crown royal bag full of loose change. Found her purse under her seat and stole the entire thing with everything in it.

Never had this happen. Never felt like we've had to lock doors. Never seen suspicious activity or anything. We live in the best neighborhood here. Frustrating to say the least.

That suck, but why is your wife leaving her purse in the car?

Sucks, had it happen to me one time but all they got was my benchmade. No offense, but leaving your doors unlocked and a purse in the car is pretty stupid.

Sorry man. But living in a neighborhood, you should be locked up at night.

My keys stay in the ignition of my vehicles. But I'm also at the end of a 5 mile dead end road surrounded by older family members

I had one walk up and check my doors last night. Lanky Mexican looking mf'er. Happens once a month, and still pisses me off every time.

Moral of the story.....if you like your shite, lock your doors

I lived in Southdowns for three years, and it never happened to me. Do you live by one of the main roads? They like to park the getaway car right at the edge of a main road and hit up side streets

Had that happen to me a few years back. This usually starts happening right around end of the school year in my neighborhood. We keep our car doors locked and lock the garage door at the controller.

Has happened multiples time in our neighborhood since and we've been fine. They never break windows and only go after unlocked cars.

We had that happen in front of the old house in New Orleans. Lost a cheap revolver, an expensive ring and some change. I hate a damn thief too!

And don't get me started on losing my whole front porch to thieves, they had to be meth-heads too.

Seems like we have an annual "truck got broken into last night" thread that always starts with someone leaving their doors unlocked in a neighborhood. I hate it. It it's the world we live in. Lock your doors

I've told her that 100x's wick. See, we were living in Kingston and recently moved to Vidalia. In Kingston she never locked doors.

Rarely do I leave mine unlocked

Sucks to hear.

We have a lease not far from there in Kingston. Property owner walks/travels the land multiple times a week. Still had our camps broken into a couple years ago. It can happen anywhere anytime.

I can never understand why people continue to do things like this! Leaving valuables, especially keys, purses and guns, in a car overnight and then refuse to lock them.

How fricking difficult is it to lock your damn vehicles? I hear this crap all the time. It's like they're trying to make a statement that they can get away with not locking them. I'll bet that 99% of these victims have electronic locks with remotes also. Why not raise the challenge for the thieves at least a little and press the damn button.

Don't get me wrong....I hate a fricking thief. I'd probably end up in jail if I ever caught one red handed, but damn!

i was just telling people on ND that i have lived here for 8 years. I have left my cargo door open on several occasions overnight and nothing happen. I rarely locked my doors in all 8 of the years.

Then i get this app about 3 months ago and its non stop missing dogs\cats & car was ransacked last night.

I live on Edinburgh so you got to have some balls to do it on that road IMO

Last thing I do before going to bed is hit the remote lock for my truck, just as a double check.

Maybe it was because I lived in the middle of a block (Sweetbriar btwn Stuart and Pickett), but my shite never got touched.

I forget to lock my truck doors 1/5 of the time. My house front door maybe 1/2 of the time, but coming in there would be a fatal mistake

Unlocked no less. Still not as bad as the gun owners who leave a pistol in an unlocked car. Might as well go shoot someone or rob a store yourself.

I don't normally turn it up to 11, but in that situation, with no one here to make me stop, somebody isn't walking out intact.

I feel similar about thieves. It's my shite. If they want it, they need to come take it because I'm not giving anything up.

Thieves always take the easy road first. If your neighbor's car is locked and yours isn't, who are they gonna rob? Break a window and wake everyone up, or open a door and be gone forever? Hell, it's 100x easier than stealing from anywhere else

The guy by my house last night walked up, grabbed my driver's side door handle, and walked away literally within three seconds of coming on my property. Moved on to my neighbor's house right after that

Also, why does everyone on the Outdoor board say "hate a thief?" Say, "I hate thieves."
