I haven't. I find better deals at the big box stores on new guns on clearance.

I picked up a savage 110 with the simmons scope combo in synthetic stock .270 for $155. It's nothing special and an entry-level gun, but it's killed plenty and hasn't missed yet. It was also sighted in perfectly and hasn't lost it in 8 years.

My dad's colleague found a Sako85 finnlight with a Schmidt Zenith 3-12X50 for around $1700. The scope itself is worth $2000 at the low end.

You guys are shopping at the wrong pawn shops apparently. I've purchased prob 20 guns from pawn shops.

I've always assumed that the potential bargains stay in the back for the insiders to look at. If they pass, then it may work it out to the front for the general public to see.

I bought a Benelli ultralight that looked brand new for $850 out the door. It has some fine looking wood on it.

Found a great deal on a Sig SP2020 a few years ago. Just have look enough and be patient.

You'd be right but good deals still make it to the floor.

Haha I worked at a pawn shop in college. Which is how I learned of the stellar deals you can get there.

Yes

If you know the value of things, are willing to bargain hard - you can get great deals.

On of my my local right now has a Remington 742 from the 70's with a nice scope in 30-06 for $295. A steal at that price, in going to try and get it down to 225$.
I don't really need it but may get it for my father in law to keep at his place

purchased a Rem 700 Sendero 25-06 for $550 and sold it 2 weeks later for $900

also bought a Leupold Vari-X III 1.5-5x20 for $125 and sold it for $275

like everything in life, gotta be in the right place at the right time (with $$$$ in hand) to get good deals

Tikka 7 mag, with Leupold Vari X II 3x9x50 for 650 out the door.

Just gotta be relentless hitting them up and not afraid to low ball. They mark up a good bit and sometimes you will catch them trying to make sales.
