How does buying guns online work?

If the seller is across state lines from you, you will have to arrange to have the weapon shipped to a local FFL dealer, who will then complete the transaction and process your 4473 and NICS check for you, typically for a fee (normally $10 to $25, but some charge more.)

This. Some sites (like Budsgunshop) have a data base pre-registered with FFL dealers that they have done business with. Other, smaller online sales, may require you to send them a copy of your chosen FFL dealer's license. I have also had the online retailer (small gun shop up north) contact my chosen FFL dealer themselves for the license. Either way, it's easy. Then all you should have to do is let the FFL dealer you are transferring to know that it is coming (some may have you fill out a form with basic information with your name, number, address, gun make and model, etc.). The FFL dealer I use here in my part of Texas charges $10 with a CHL and $15 without, but I have seen some transfer fees as high as $50. So I would recommend shopping around for FFL dealers as well. You can do a quick google search for dealers in your area.

My wife actually prefers this pistol over the smaller carry pistols like the Ruger LCP9 and the 380 bodyguard, even though the Canik TP9 is a full size pistol.

This doesn't surprise me at all and is the case for most shooters. Tiny guns are not fun and are less user-friendly.

get a Canik TP9SA

Shot one of these for the first time at the range recently when the dude next to me had one. It was pretty damn smooth and had Mecgar mags which screams quality.

For the price, it's tough to beat. I would get the one without the decocker button.

Hmmmmm

I've never heard of that brand. Will definitely have to check that out. $300 is tough to argue with.

How about you go buy one, put 7 or 8k through it, and make a YouTube video.

LOL there are a ton of YouTube videos on it. Many of them put it up on a side by side test with the VP9 and the PPQ. Most say go with the Canik. I've put 500 or so rounds through mine and its functioned flawlessly.

I watched a ton of reviews and tests on it before I bought it, even though I had shot it at the range before. sootch00 has the best overall review of the pistol IMO. Here is the link to his YouTube review Canik TP9 review

For sure

Yea this was something I wasn't sure about initially. The first one I bought was the SA with the decocker. The second one I bought, the all black one, was the SF model without the decocker. My hesitation with the decocker was the possibility of it decocking while holstered, etc. The SA with the decocker is actually the one I chose to carry. Haven't had any issues with the decocker yet, even though the placement isn't ideal.

What's your opinion on the CZ75b?

I can't provide any hand-molesting-gun porn right now unfortunately since I'm so booked up with classes. But I'd like to review one in the future.

Haven't done extensive shooting on one but everyone I've met who owns one loves it. One of my friends who is a US Marshal prefers it over all of his duty Glocks. It's his favorite range toy.

I had a CZ75 Omega and it is amazing. Very good gun. Gave it to my Mom and bought the VP9.

I went to Puglia's today and checked out the Glock 19 and Springfield XD(M). The glock was nice and light, but the XDM felt better in my hands. I think I've decided on the XDM.

The XDm is a damn good choice if you get the 9mm it's damn near like shooting a .22.... Almost.

Go with a 9mm gun. I would recommend either the Glock 19 or the Sig Sauer P938. Try to shoot both at a range to compare them.

Both are solid guns but are in different categories. One is a midsized double stack 9mm and the other is a subcompact single stack 9mm.

I've been close to buying the P120 or Shark on a few occasions. Not even sure why I didn't. Mostly because the various CZ inspired guns all get such great reviews i simply can't pull the trigger.

I just bought my first handgun and I went with the XDM. Can't wait to get to the range to try it out.

I just got back from Optimum Outfitters on the northshore and picked up a XD Mod 2 9mm. Can't wait to take it out on the range.

FTR, not a single gun shop within 50 miles of me had 9mm HST. Talk about annoying. I had to buy it online and then I fricking ended up impulse buying 1000 more rounds of 115gr FMJ. Stupid internet

Ergonomically one of the best "feel" guns in your hand, if not the best, IMO.
