None of these are legit.

In 1995 I was attacked by a sow protecting a new litter that I couldn't and didn't see...got me on the left leg as i walked by a myrtle bush....never seen or heard them as I crept in before daylight....13 stitchs and a pile of shots in the abdomen as precaution...before I was done.

I just hope the feds do not adopt. One of the reasons the NWRs are attractive to me is knowing the gun carrying crazies are not in the woods.

I can now look cool with my sidearm AND a bow.

Yeah, i rarely see any of these waaaay back in the woods in a parking lot full of armed white people. Even in Ferriday.
Thankfully, all you armed citizens are out there protecting me.
I must confess, bet i could shoot a limit of squirrels with my .17HMR from a bowstand in BCNWR, despite rarely seeing any while squirrel hunting.

You are very fortunate to hunt waaaay back in the woods. Where I hunt, you are never that far from (un)civilization. I have bow hunted for over 20 years without carrying a gun, but 5 years ago changed all that for me. My pistol will ALWAYS be with me.

Well you see the buck was charging me horns down ready to gore me. At the last second from 35 yards away he turned broadside where I got him with a double lung shot with my 357. It was all in self defense.

Which is why they have been banned this whole time.

With a CCL you are legal to have it with you, to me that's how it should stay. If you want one bad enough go to the class and licensing.

If you are in Louisiana, any concern over safety in the woods that would be mitigated by the necessity for carrying a weapon is far less than that of you needing one going to Walgreens to buy a bandaid. I can see the need for one somewhere out west, where there actually are things that can eat you. Here, it is completely unnecessary. I do agree we should be able to carry a gun damn-near anywhere we want, but to NEED one is absurd.

I will just offer that a well placed round from a handgun is a much more efficient way of finishing an injured deer than cutting its throat or holding its head underwater, particularly for an older person.

I don't disagree, but only one of those is legal (I think). If drowning one is illegal, at least people can't hear it from 2 miles away. If you are close, the bleating/gargling sound is audible though.
