Over priced and not worth going. Wasted NY time today.

They used to be OK, I can only imagine what they are like now.
I picked up a nice new Colt single action .45 long at one, still feels good to the hand.

They are way overpriced. My main problem is the guys who show up carrying long guns just so people will see them carrying a long gun. A lot of gun nuts are functional retards.

The only use for those shows is to be able to hold a large variety of guns in one place

I like to see used guns or maybe gun parts at gun shows.
A new in box gun can be purchased at many different stores for the same or better prices. Seems pointless to me.

Not the .45, Colt had discontinued the 4 5/8 barrel and Bianchi had started to buy all they could for a holster/gun rig, or so I was told.

The last several gun shows I went to I saw

A. Tacticool guys with overpriced new guns and ammo
B. Old men with over priced worn out guns and ammo
C. Those crappy heating and cooling towels

Gun shows were good several years ago, now they are a waste of time. Only thing I've bought at one recently was a knife.

A few years ago, I went to the gun show out at the Pontchartrain Center in Kenner, and there were so many sketchy people in the parking lot and loitering out front, that I said screw it and didn't even go in.

They are good if you're into dream catchers, beef jerky, or ninja swords

I got some of these at the last gun show I went to and gave them to my old man. He got a good kick out of it. Thats about all they are good for.

You were given incorrect information.

Colt never made a 4 5/8" barrel.
They have also never discontinued the 4 3/4" barrel length for the SAA.

You know individuals can sell guns at a show while walking around right?

I mean, someone trying to sell a gun might just carry it around without a price to haggle. And not be retarded?

Gun shows are a waste of time. I will probably never go to another one again.

I
Most of the reason I answered the way I did was to gain just this info.
That was the story going around at the time and I wanted that Colt anyway so I jumped on it. It's been 30+ years so I am probably wrong about the barrel length.
Thanks for the info.

A lot of people who are not gun nuts are functional retards also. What is your point?

Some of those people carrying long guns might, just might (gasp) be trying to sell them.

There are too many of them where I live. It seems we have one every month.

Ammo prices are higher than Academy or Walmart. He'll, the 22LR was two to three times higher than Academy. Rifles were much higher than retail.

Hardly anyone selling holsters and that is a useful part of a gun show most of the time.
