Can any of you sage OB folk tell me anything about these guns?

This one is a double barrel shotgun, but doesn't carry a brand anywhere on it.

It has this faded imprint on it which looks to be an eagle

This one is a single barrel 12ga shotgun which has a JW Higgins insignia and under it says Sears & Roebuck.

Of course, we're talking in hypotheticals as these two fine pieces now reside at the bottom of a waterway.

Pretty sure your double barrel is an Ithica. You need to remove the forearm and the barrels and look at the water table for marking on that gun...

Yep, looks like an Ithaca NID to me.

The single shot is a J.C. Higgins brand, sold by S & R. Different manufacturers made these guns under the J.C. Higgins brand for Sears & Roebuck. The name was later changed to the Ted Williams brand. My dad has a 12 gauge BOLT ACTION J.C. Higgins. Heavy as the dickens, too. LINK

Edited to add: My dad is 93.

Thank you.....I thought that was the location, but wasn't 100%sure. I tried looking last night, but didn't fully take it apart.
