I need to go back to Costa Rica, ASAP! Place is awesome, and I'm sure Guatemala is pretty similar.

This place is in the same neighborhood as our house. There are a few charming inconveniences that exist down there that are worth noting....

A lot of places only have running water for certain hours of the day.

I'm not exactly sure what there is to be afraid of, but every gas station, neighborhood, boat dock, and little cantina had at least one armed guard...and for some reason they aren't into just sporting a pistol. The OB would like those guys.

You'll want to hire a driver too. That third world driving style is enough to drive any of us gringos insane.

AR's or a similar knockoff, but primarily old sawed off shotguns, more than likely old military surplus.
