Any recommendations on a good Yak spot to catch a few trout? Not looking for coordinates, just a general area that's good for my Yak in case I need a few more after surf fishing tomorrow morning.

Fish the rock jetties on the backside of the island. This is especially true if the wind is out of the south and the surf is rough or dirty.

Launch at the kayak launch off of Ludwig Lane and you can fish the rock jetties and the artificial reef area near there. I caught a limit of trout all on topwater there last Sunday.

I'm always hesitant to launch at the kayak launch by wildlife and fisheries bc I feel like there's no back up plan or close marsh near by. So it seems like it's rock jetties or bust. I didn't know about the artificial reef. Is it marked off or easy to find?

Go west, young man. It is a line of concrete X's and they are marked. Most are visible at low tide and some even exposed. If tide is low you may not be able to cross the line from bay side to island side ubtil you come to a break in the line. Those breaks can be quite far apart.

THere are breakwaters right near the launch. Keep going west idk maybe a mile and you'll see the zigzagging artificial reef
