You can do analysis and tell whether the oil is Mc252 oil or not. And in most cases the oil we are finding is. Yes oil seeps are also a natural occurrence.

ar balls
"Tar balls" have been washing up on shore since I was a kid (70s). We used to get them on our feet every summer in GI. It's not a BP oil spill thing, this shite has been happening for years. Doubt there is any environmental impact.

The matter was the sheer amount in a short amount of time, in a small area. Grand isle/Fourchon had an absurd amount of oil wash ashore compared to the rest of the Gulf coast.

But overall yeah the environment has done a great job of cleaning up. Only a few spots is it still persistent (80% of original concentrations remaining)

Did y'all really think those millions upon millions of gallons just disappeared? Those dispersing chemicals just made them clump and sink. They'll be around for as long as the currents bring them in. Make no mistake about it, millions of gallons are dispersed down there deep.

frick BP for crying about claims. They should have been banned from our gulf

There are beaches on the east coast where tar balls wash up that came from tankers sunk by German U boats during WWII

that shite washed up from normal oil leaks around the globe.

Dont get me wrong, The BP spill was horrible, but dont act like it is the end of the world. Remmeber right as it happened the Chicken littles were saying there were going to be no more fish in the Gulf...... Well i have caught the shite out of the fish the past few years.

There is natural seepage but their are other wells that are actively leaking oil in the gulf. Taylor energy has a platform destroyed by hurricane Ivan and has been leaking since 2004. The oil patties I have seen aren't the same as what I saw pre-BP. The Corexit from the BP stuff has me more concerned than anything else.
