Headed down there this weekend in the yak to get into some trout and redfish. How are things looking?

I'm going down there too for our yearly charter trip with my dad and brother. I was hearing a lot of good reports a couple weeks ago. I work with our guide and he's confident we will find them. They didn't limit out on his last trip but caught a bunch of big specks. Heard the specks are on the beaches right now.

Forecast looks promising.

There's a big kayak tournament Saturday, so expect a lot of traffic around the popular launch spots

Good tides and meh weather forecast. You should be able to put together a decent box. Tide doesn't start falling till 8ish so don't give up early

Decent chance in the surf you think, and around areas along the banks?

Caught 38 trout this am in the pass right our front of Bridgeside. Fished Elmers at daylight and wasn't too good, moved a couple times and still nothing. Heading back to Bridgeside to get our net we had forgotten and saw some bird s working and stopped and fished and about 1 out of 3 were keepers. It was slick as owlshit this am.... lotta boats moving around I'm sure some got on them but we didn't.

All caught on plastics, didn't buy bait.

Will be here until Sunday.

Check out the video about half way down the page. Dude was catching them on pogies in Caminada Pass. I'll see you there Saturday morning.

Every time I see that video I am amazed at how nonchalantly he is holding that trout and measuring it on the side of the boat. I would have a death grip on that fish.

One thing I have never understood is why people put measuring tapes on the sides of their boat.
