Going to Grand Isle next weekend, should I bother trying to catch crabs?

In the water to eat, not the other prevalent kind down there. I have no idea how/when they run down there. Thanks

There were 2 people who caught a five gallon bucket's worth just by dip netting and not using bait last weekend. It'd probably be worth giving it a try with some baited baskets.

A couple girls that were in our group this past weekend caught almost seven dozen with dip nets and turkey necks on a string in a couple hours. Found there were many more near the rocks rather than just the plain beach

I've gone to GI just about every other weekend all summer long. Spent many hours surf fishing and my flesh ain't eating. However I did almost die driving down to the isle one weekend.

There are a handful of island whores in Arties that could certainly give you what you're looking for.

We caught about 8 dozen this past weekend, they were the leanest crabs I've caught down there in the past 10 years. Only half full of meat.

I was down there this weekend and we caught about 4 dozen in 2 hours using crab lines and turkey necks.

Also found this crab trap on the side of the road Sunday morning. Had an Arties tag, that Artie fella needs to be more careful with his traps.

I caught 87 crabs last weekend using nets.

They were full of meat. I used Chicken as bait.

We eventually concluded she had to have walked there, and by "there" I mean we found her almost at the state park. She confirmed she was indeed alive when she growled at me.

You should have had someone record the awakening.
