At the camp this weekend we had 2 huge burn piles we lit up. I always use old tires to start a burn pile. One of our neighbors stopped by right before I lit it and he said he'd never heard of that. I've done it that way since I was a kid.
What are y'all's go to burn pile method?

The OB just breaths fire on it after all the alcohol that is consumed by us.

I personally will not do this. I'm not going to tell you not to but I wish you wouldn't.

Is this the 1970s? Are people still doing this?

I put tires in the middle to cook off the pile once its lit. Depends on the size of the pile and how wet it is but to light it I use 2+ gallons of diesel, a gallon of gas to get diesel going and a Molotov cocktail to start it at a safe distance – the “WOOF” sound when it starts is amazing

I would have thought the OB just pissed on the wood and the high octane of the urine would burn like phosphorus.

Felt, or Liquid nail. That will burn for 20 minutes and will even burn on wet stuff long enough to start anything.
Or old school, leaves and pine straw and small sticks.

A bucket of lint from a dry cleaning place.

Put a good roll of toilet paper at the bottom and it will burn for a llllllong time and it gets the fire started every time.

I can burn anything with a pine knot and a blower.

JAb & TigerDeacon – u scared?
When I’ve done this I generally shake the camp windows with the “WOOF” , neighbours are used to it don’t even come out anymore to make sure we are ok
I admit its a little overkill but the pile stays lit and its always a big pile a few old trees, stumps, leaves, a cpl of old round bales ..... It not your avg brush pile

I'd love to see it in action.

Usually have leaves piled under so I use that to start it. If they are extra dry, it will get hot quick and start the pile. If not, gasoline and then light balls of newspaper in certain spots. Only failed to light a pile once and it was after a storm.
