I think it's more popular with out of state people. Most people I know in LA are tired of it.

I get the show. It was relatively funny at first. Then it just got old real fast.
Honestly part of the hate is that out of staters/non hunters actually think it's pretty real.
I see where kids could like it but if you're over 13 and watching it without a kid then I don't know. But then again I watch almost no TV.

And I hate reality shows.
But, a friend of both my wife and I recently told us that she watches DD. It came as a shock. Her parents are from India, and her father is a surgeon. She has her own fashion business and spends lots of time in Paris and London. She's probably never been deeper in the woods than the raised wooden pathway through her mother's manicured flower garden. Imagine our surprise when she said she watches DD. She knows it's scripted, but just likes it.

I don't think most normal people in Monroe/West Monroe give 5 fricks about the show or the Robertsons at least from what I have seen when one of them shows up in public. There may be some under the breath whisper like there is Jase or Phil, but that is about it. They are just quasi-famous citizens of the Mecca.
