I wonder the same. I have always used 2x4s too with the back tires in the water.

I've never sunk a truck and my wife, who can tow and back a trailer hasn't either thank god. But I have dumped in, tied up, parked truck, jumped in and headed out with the plug in my hand.

Three times.

oh yeah, I've been out without the plug. The last time I got it in but then the battery operated pump didn't work.

Amazing how fast water comes in the drain.

Yep, I'll run the bayou in freezing weather rather than launch up north since the ramp is so steep. Wet from others launching makes it even worse.

The guy should have hired a chauffeur. Backing the trailer in could be a challenge
