Currently driving 2004 ford f150 and it's a piece . First year of updated body style .

I swore I'd never buy another ford but I'm hearing the newer ones are night and day compared to my 2004 . I've heard the new rams are great also . Advice please based off experience.

Edit : would be getting f250 if I went ford route

I gotta '05 ram 1500 and '10 f150. Love em both. No problems with either. I did buy the ford because of the bailout issue though, but its still a nice truck. Rides better than the ram and the the cab is huge!

I had an 2006 KR with the 5.4.
That motor sucked arse and sucked gas.
It was also puffing smoke on cold startup, so I'm pretty sure the valve guides were going bad at only 38,xxx. Loved the rest of the truck though. Traded it on a 2008 EXT.

Currently drive a 2011 F250 KR, 20,xxx. No issues, quiet and solid.

I hear that Dodge is way better than it used to be, but I don't have any hands-on with them.

Toyota is a real alternative now, but man, they want a lick for them.

I like them better than I used to, but no 3/4 ton and I don't care for the interior.

Geaut says if I rank on them Tundras anymore he's gonna put me in his meat processor so I ain't sayin shite after this.

I recently drove and evaluated them all before buying. I was "sure" I was getting a tundra, but wanted to check them all out, except Dodge. After a month of extensive homework, I bought the Ram Laramie Crew. I thought if had a better exterior, better highway ride and smoother performance, a nice interior, and solid 3rd party reviews (2013 truck of the year). The private equity guys running Dodge are making the right moves. It didn't hurt that they were more willing to make a deal either.

2 months in and no regrets.

I'm not saying its right for everyone, but at least take the time and effort to come up with your own opinion and don't believe the marketing machine from any brand.

Good luck.

Let me know how what number transmission you are on in a year or two. If they have fixed the TRM problem then they are for sure nice trucks.

I just have such a bad taste in my mouth with my 04 f150.. Relatives have dodges and swear by them . For tundras , I've read they suck as a actual truck and interior is mediocre

Love the hell out of my Ram but would set it on fire right now to be able to have a new F250. I love those trucks.

Didn't Ford get several billion from the government before we put the bailout tag on the term. And I think ford has still yet to pay it back.

So buy the truck you want they all 3 make good trucks. And all three companies took money from the government to stay afloat

One thing for sure, the car business changes.
I remember when Honda was absolute junk and if you drove a Hyundai it meant you had sucky credit. Jaguar was crappy and unreliable and Ford bought them and they lead the league in quality. Tata will probably screw that up.
Manufacturers have to improve or they disappear.

Except Range Rover. They continually suck.
